If you are looking for a completely different side of Table Mountain, Skeleton Gorge is a must. This unique route takes you from lush, shaded forest to the wide-open summit, offering one of the most diverse and rewarding hikes in Cape Town.
Starting in the beautiful Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, we wind our way through indigenous forest, crossing streams, climbing wooden ladders, and following the sound of flowing water as we ascend through the gorge.
It is a cooler, more sheltered route, perfect for warmer days, before opening up onto the top of Table Mountain near the tranquil Hely-Hutchinson Dam. From there, the landscape completely transforms, with panoramic views stretching across the mountain and beyond.
This hike is ideal for nature lovers, school groups, and teams wanting a more relaxed but still adventurous experience, with plenty of variety along the way.
